In Alaska, earthquake insurance doesn’t come cheap (KTUU Anchorage)

Recent temblors in Haiti and Chile highlight the threat, and the Alaska Earthquake Information Center reports 20,000 quakes each year. But only two insurance companies offer earthquake insurance to Alaskans, and it's so expensive that State Farm says only a third of its Alaskan customers have it.
